How to Make Matcha

Choose the method that fits your lifestyle.
Traditional or simple.

OPTION 1

Traditional Preparation

The authentic way to enjoy matcha.

1
Sifting matcha powder through a tea strainer

Sift 2g of matcha.

Sift the matcha powder through a tea strainer to break up any lumps.

2
Pouring hot water into a matcha bowl

Pour 60–70ml of water (70–80°C).

Add hot water to the bowl.

3
Whisking matcha with a bamboo whisk

Whisk for about 30-40 seconds.

Whisk gently in a W motion until the matcha is frothy and smooth.

4
Freshly prepared traditional matcha

Enjoy your matcha.

Take a moment to savour the rich aroma and natural sweetness.

For the best experience, we recommend using a bamboo whisk to create a smooth and creamy texture.

OPTION 2

No Whisk? No Problem.

A quick and easy way to enjoy matcha anywhere.

1
Adding matcha powder to a shaker bottle

Add 2g of matcha.

Add the matcha directly to the shaker bottle.

2
Pouring water into a matcha shaker bottle

Pour 60–70ml of water (70–80°C).

Add the water to the same shaker bottle.

3
Shaking matcha in a sealed shaker bottle

Close the lid and shake for 20 seconds.

Shake firmly until the matcha is smooth and evenly blended.

4
Pouring shaken matcha into a glass

Pour into your favourite cup and enjoy.

Enjoy it on its own or add milk and ice for a refreshing matcha latte.

A shaker makes it easy to enjoy matcha on busy days or when you are on the go.
